This porcelain vessel reflects the impact of lead symbolized by musket balls and the cotton used to load them. Through this piece, the artist aims to acknowledge and convey the harsh realities of musket warfare, which profoundly affected communities. Muskets were not only traded through Colonised communities but were also central to conflicts over land, leading to significant suffering and disruption.
This vessel's creation incorporates elements that evoke the destructive force of lead and the devastation that was wrought on landscapes and communities.
