Michelle Huizinga
Michelle Huizinga is a multi-media sculptor based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. NZ A sculptor of Dutch descent, Michelle, is deeply connected to her cultural heritage. She embodies women's strength and power, which stems from the stoic, unwavering women in her life. These concepts are often moulded into sculptural forms with clay as her primary medium. Her vessels hold a thoughtful blend of nurture and nature, which she then sophistically weaves into. Her passion for combining textiles with ceramics has defined her unique vessels, evoking intuitive shapes that form naturally while holding integrity for the materials, craft and her artistic aspirations.
