Jocelyn Friis
Originally from South Africa, Jocelyn now calls New Zealand home. Residing in Mangawhai, she is reminded daily of her connection to nature and draws much inspiration from her surrounding beach and bush environments. She sees the amazing creativity in nature and the healing life lessons we can learn, which is then translated into her paintings. Jocelyn expresses an openness and freedom in her semi abstract landscapes, enjoying both the spontaneity of acrylics and the ancient integrity of working with wax in her encaustic works.
